The Internet Retailer Conference & Exhibition, the largest eCommerce trade show in the industry, is right around the corner.
IRCE takes place in Chicago from June 7-10, at McCormick Place West.
Are you ready?
If you are attending in hopes to discover more about platforms, solutions, and service providers for your organization, here are some things to take into consideration.
Make sure you’re prepared going in.
Here is a checklist for some steps you should take before making your way to Chicago.
Factor the following questions into your discussions and decision making process.
- Is it easy to use?
Will the solution provide a superior experience for your buyers, as well as more intuitive tools for your internal team?
Many existing internal systems, or legacy systems are difficult to use, but still hold a lot of value. Can the platform connect to your existing software to provide a superior interface and workflow?
- Who is responsible for maintenance?
Is someone available to help you launch the solution and provide 1-on-1 training going forward, or will you need to figure it out yourself? Will you need to hire a developer or more people for your IT team?
A great support team can make all of the difference for onboarding, day-to-day use, maintenance, and cost efficiency. Moreover, if the solution comes with a team that will take care of the maintenance, this is very valuable. Make sure your bases are covered.
- Can the solution grow with your business?
Will your organization’s growth be limited by the technology?
Choose a solution built with your unique business in mind. Custom settings, comprehensive functionality, and frequent enhancements will be accommodating for your needs and enable the solution to help grow your business without limitations.
- What kind of people will you be working with?
Will there be a dedicated person or team who gets to know you and your business – someone that you can call with questions?
Don’t forget to take the support team into account. Technology will likely the primary focus of your search, but don’t forget to make sure you are also taking the people into consideration. These are the folks you and your team will be working with frequently.
- Will the solution help you achieve your goals?
Will the platform address your operational challenges to help your organization meet its needs and beyond?
Go back to the goals you defined in the checklist. The solution you select should support these goals, and leave room to “rinse and repeat” the checklist above for future growth as your business evolves.
